April Egrets

I almost forgot about the pictures I took in April when my friend, Mary, and I went up to the Eureka area on the N California coast. I went out one evening  and came across Great Egrets and Great Blue Herons flying back and forth carrying nesting material. I could barely see their nests since they were in a dense pine forest but they could be heard especially if the wrong piece of material was brought back. I watched one bird that was trying to carry a half a tree back and laughed at how many stops it had to make and how difficult it was for it to get going again.

The last shot is one that I played with in Photoshop. Tried some NIK software filters.
